　　潘家辉 (辉) 在他二十出头的时候，便攀上了他事业的高峰 --- 夺得电影金像奖最佳新人奖，辉认为自己的成功，是个人的努力加上实力，辉被电视台力捧，他却不懂得珍惜机会，不但变得越来越挑剔执拗，而且经常批评别人，辉的事业和人气下滑，渐渐由男主角变为男配角，再由男配角变做二、三线，甚至沦为色魔奸角……最后，连电视台也容不下他，辉意志消沉，在机缘巧合之下，当上了临时演员的领班，遇到对演戏满腔热诚的吴晓菲 (菲)……
